In catching the blog up, I left out an important detail. Our parakeet passed away on "Easter Eve" as a result of an accident with a toy in his cage. Although he'd only been part of our lives since December, we really miss Baby Blue (formerly known as Cloud). He was a sweet little bird who'd come a long way toward being a tame member of the family.
We didn't last long without the chattering and singing. The house was too quiet. We decided to upgrade in size to a cockatiel, whom the kids have named Lucky. More on him later (with any luck).
