2009 Lebanon Carriage Parades

Last Saturday, Dec. 5, was the Lebanon Carriage Parades. Kristen and I drove down to participate in the parades with our friends, Cindra and Rich; their two horses, Misty and Henry; and their two rigs, a restored undercut carriage and a modern easy-entry cart.

We were saddened to learn, upon our arrival in Lebanon, of the early morning barn fire at the racetrack not a 1/2 mile away. The fire claimed the lives of 2 trainers and 45 horses. So it was with a distinct air of grief (and coldness) that the parades were held. I have a slideshow of pictures taken from Kristen's perspective as a helper and outwalker. We weren't able to bring a photographer with us this year.

Catching Up - Nov 26 - 29

It's a busy time of year and I've been neglecting some important stuff. I put together a slideshow that sums up the last part of November. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the barn. Mr. Ken spent some time entertaining Amelia with the toys that live at their house.

Paul and I took the day after Thanksgiving off to spend with the family. During that time, Amelia discovered the rabbit. She and Oreo had a good long discussion about the carpet, I think. Amelia also had her first drumming lesson in Rock Band.

Last but certainly not least, James turned 13 on the 29th. To usher in this important step of being a teenager, we got him his first real tie.

Enjoy the pictures and watch for my next post.

Carriage Parades

Hi All,

'Tis the time of year for the carriage parades. Greenville's parade was November 21st. I've done a little slide show of my friend Cindra's two entries, one of which I am lucky enough to drive. Thanks to Elaine, who came out to watch all the pretty ponies parade by.

For all who are close enough, come out to Lebanon's parade this Saturday, Dec 5th. There are two parades, 1 PM and the 7 PM candlelight parade. See you there.

Teri
