Old and New

Hi All,

Amelia went to church today in Nora's polka-dot dress. I wanted to be sure to get pictures of her in it, as she has all but outgrown it. So I guess I'll be shipping a couple of dresses back to Anna for Nora's keepsake box. She's enjoying her Bumbo seat, borrowed from Annette for the few months Amelia will be needing it - Thanks Annette!

Yesterday I attended a huge garage sale organized by the local mothers of twins club. A portion of the proceeds goes to charity. I found a play mat for Amelia and several toys to suspend from it. I also found a Peek-a-Boo book and a stuffed Noah's Ark complete with animals and its own book. Unfortunately, I didn't find a jogging stroller I liked and the Kelty backpack carrier was overpriced. I'll find these somewhere, at reasonable prices, I hope.

James and Amelia both seem to enjoy the play mat and toys.
Have a great week,
Teri

Air Force Marathon 10K

Paul got up seriously early to drive to the base, sit in line, park out in the boonies, hike through wet grass to the bus, ride for 10 minutes to the drop-off point and walk for a half mile to the start line. All this so he could run the Air Force Marathon 10K. Needless to say, I don't always understand why he does it, but he finished only five minutes off his projected pace, wasn't the last finisher in his age group and has a nice medal with a gorgeous ribbon to show for it. Way to go, Paul!

Riley

With Amelia around, all of the dependents have had to learn to do more for themselves. This includes the dog, who learned to pick up even the smallest things off the ground while I was pregnant. (However I still can't get Riley to pick up metal objects, so don't drop your keys.)

Another thing he has learned is to get his bowl and bring it to where the dog food is stored, when it is time for him to eat. Of course, it gets difficult when that recalcitrant bowl flips upside down on the hard floor, but he eventually gets it.

Baby Dedication

This Sunday, we had Amelia dedicated. Baptists only have believer-baptisms, so babies are dedicated to be raised in Christ and taught about Jesus. Since our families couldn't be with us, Amelia wore a Hawaiian sundress previously worn by Nora. It's a small way to bring our family close to us from time to time. Thanks for the dress, Anna. You'll be getting it back for Nora's keepsakes really soon - I had to struggle to get Amelia into it. Anyway, I thought everyone would enjoy this picture of Miss A.

Band Blitz

I don't know how long this link will last. Greenon's band was featured on 22 News at this site. Kristen is the first trombonist in the close-up about 50 seconds in.
